Camp Koolaree

 Camp Koolaree is an incredible 137-acre wilderness camp on Kootenay Lake; rustic and in the woods!  There are no roads, no radios, no electricity — just an opportunity to grow, to learn and to “Be still and know that I am God”.  Established in 1931, Camp Koolaree and its beaches, dock, trails, mountains behind and lake in front make it a true wilderness setting.

 

On October 13, 2007, Kootenay Presbytery, our governing body, voted in favour of beginning negotiations with BC Conference of the United Church of Canada to be part of the Camp Futures Project in order for the Kootenays to host a ‘Regional Camp’. No solid decisions have been made to date, therefore Kootenay Presbytery has advised the Board of Directors for Camp Koolaree to continue operations until the decisions have been made.
